Meet the team

I have always believed that if you can find and retain the right staff then the success of our events are guaranteed. The feedback from our clients certainly supports this view.

We use both full time and professional freelance instructors to help us deliver high quality outdoor programmes with each member of staff being carefully selected for their specialities, experiences and qualifications. You can be confident of receiving enthusiastic, high quality instruction during all of our events.

I am very pleased to introduce some of our full time staff.

Ieuan Starks.  Director.

He is passionate about working with young people and believes that outdoor activities provide him with the best opportunity for developing potential. He is qualified to run a wide range of outdoor activities including kayaking, canoeing, climbing, archery, biking, and mountain walking.

Combining all his experiences, ieuan set up School Camp Ltd in 2010 since when, the company has grown from strength to strength.

Gemma – Technical and Events Director

Gemma is a highly experienced outdoor activities instructor who has worked for several activity centres since graduating with a degree in Outdoor Education and Sports Studies.  Several years on, and reflecting her experience, she now lectures on this course during the winter.

Gemma is a well highly qualified kayak and canoe instructor.  She is also qualified to run mountain walking, climbing, Bush craft and team building activities.

Over the last few years Gemma has run many residential activity camps and quickly establishes herself as teachers first port of call when they need something!

Pat – Bookings Support

Pat works from our main office in South Wales and is involved in most of the behind the scenes work.  She is the  main point of contact for customers and it will be her hard work that enables your event to run smoothly.

It’s more than likely that you will liaise with Pat if you have any queries or need support with your booking.

Stephen - Instructor & Store Person

Stephen is currently undertaking a degree course in Outdoor Activity Management and manages our Equipment Store around his studies.

Stephen is a developing activity instructor and supports camps and activity sessions through the summer months.

Well organised and approachable, he is popular with staff and students of all ages, as well as our dogs!

Elaine – Instructor & Event Manager

Elaine is an experienced, well respected outdoor instructor with a breath of experience both in the UK and overseas. Her enthusiasm for everything outdoors is catching and makes her very popular with all our client groups. Elaine is passionate about developing individuals and come rain or shine will be found working with groups in the hills and mountains across the UK.

Elaine works as both an instructor as well as being one of our event managers facilitating our larger Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expeditions and multi activity camps.

Zoe – Instructor & DofE Coordinator

Zoe went on her first expedition as a teacher accompanying students and was hooked on the outdoors from that point on! She has ten years’ experience working with young people in the outdoors and would prefer to be outside rather than in but still does supply work for local schools. She is a qualified archery instructor (aka Catniss) and can also turn her hand to sailing, morris dancing and synchronised swimming.
Zoe is one of our DofE coordinators but enjoys working on all our residential camps and watching the transformation as students discover how to work as a team and become more confident in their own abilities.

Wez & Floki

Wez and Floki belong to our directors and are much loved members of the team. Whil staff are forgotten over time, we are inundated with requests from teachers and students for the dogs to ‘work’ on their next camp.

Both boys enjoy the open air, mud and especially water and can be found at many of our events or at our company office.
